   Selective perception

   Things or events that stand out are bound to be perceived better than the entire event or thing. It is impossible for a person to imbibe each and everything that passes through his or her sense organs. This is also known as “speed reading” and this usually makes and unclear and biased picture in the minds of the receiver. This tendency to see what we want to see leads to incorrect conclusions from ambiguous situations.
